Paradise Soccer Club Selected for TELUS She CAN Coach Program

Feb. 05, 2026

Paradise, NL — Paradise Soccer Club (PSC) is proud to announce that the Club has been selected as a participant in the TELUS She CAN Coach initiative, a national program designed to recruit, develop, and train women coaches while addressing barriers to participation in soccer.

This announcement comes on the heels of Women and Girls in Sport Day, a timely reminder of the importance of creating meaningful opportunities and pathways for women and girls to participate, lead, and thrive in sport. PSC’s involvement in this initiative reflects the Club’s ongoing commitment to building inclusive environments and keeping more women and girls engaged in soccer at all levels.

PSC’s application and involvement in the initiative has been led by Club Chair Tannis Turpin, alongside club coach Hannah Noseworthy, whose leadership and advocacy helped bring this opportunity to the Club and its coaching community.

Through participation in the program, PSC coaches will gain access to a nationwide network of women coaches and professional development resources. In addition, they will receive access to grassroots coaching courses through Canada Soccer, strengthening coach education and player development pathways across all programs.

“This initiative aligns with our commitment to keeping more women and girls involved in sport,” said Turpin. “By investing in our coaches, we’re building stronger support systems for our athletes and creating more inclusive leadership pathways within our club.”

The TELUS She CAN Coach initiative supports community sport organizations by reducing barriers to coaching, fostering meaningful connections between coaches across the country, and providing education opportunities that empower women to grow and thrive in leadership roles.

For Paradise Soccer Club, this selection represents an important step forward in advancing equity in sport and ensuring athletes have access to diverse, well-supported role models on and off the field.
