Paradise Soccer Club is proud to celebrate several members of its community who were recognized at the Newfoundland and Labrador Soccer Association (NLSA) Annual Awards. These honours reflect the dedication, talent, and leadership of players and coaches who continue to represent the club at the highest level.
This year, the Paradise SC GU17 Girls, Luca Dupasquier, and assistant coach Teri Murphy were recognized for their outstanding contributions to the game. The GU17 team was named Youth Team of the Year, Dupasquier received Youth Male Player of the Year, and Murphy was honoured as Senior Female Player of the Year.

The Paradise Soccer Club GU17 team was recognized as NLSA Youth Team of the Year, capping off a remarkable season defined by teamwork, commitment, and consistently strong performances.
Under the leadership of Head Coach Hannah Noseworthy, the team built a culture rooted in connection, accountability, and a shared drive to improve.
“Honestly, I was just really proud,” said Noseworthy. “I’ve had the chance to coach a lot of these girls since they were very young, and even back then you could tell this was a special group. To see them now being recognized like this is pretty incredible and very well deserved.”
Noseworthy credits the team’s success to the bond the players have built and the environment they created together.
“They genuinely want the best for one another, and that shows in how they train, compete, and support each other,” she said. “They managed to strike the perfect balance between enjoying the game and turning up the intensity to compete at a high level.”
The team’s achievements have also been recognized beyond the soccer community, as they have been named a finalist for the Sport NL Youth Female Team of the Year award.
“For the players, it’s a great reward for all the years they’ve put in,” Noseworthy added. “It validates the way they’ve approached the game and each other. For the club, it’s a really positive sign of the continued growth of the women’s program. What’s even more meaningful is seeing these players now giving back and setting the standard for the next generation.”

Luca Dupasquier was named NLSA Youth Male Player of the Year, recognizing his outstanding development, dedication, and performances over the past year.
“I was honoured when I found out I was chosen,” said Dupasquier. “I know I was only able to win this award because of the great players I played with and against and because of the awesome coaches I had.”
Over the past year, Luca has continued to push himself in high-performance environments, including PYL U15, NLSA Indoor Performance, and provincial training camps, while also earning opportunities to compete and train at the next level. These experiences included participation in the Canada Soccer REX camp, a Vancouver Whitecaps Showcase, PYL Nationals, the NLSA Atlantics in PEI, and a trial with the Vancouver Whitecaps Academy.
“It means a lot to me because I’ve put a lot of hard work, training, and dedication into the last year,” he said. “Winning this award shows me that my hard work is paying off.”
Reflecting on his journey, one lesson continues to guide him.
“A coach once told me to always ‘live above the line,’” Dupasquier said. “That means going above and beyond in everything you do. All those extra efforts help you become a better person and a better soccer player.”

Teri Murphy, an assistant coach with Paradise Soccer Club, was named NLSA Senior Female Player of the Year, recognizing her outstanding performances at the senior level.
Murphy, a 29-year-old midfielder and three-time national champion, played a key role in her team’s national championship run, scoring the match-winning goal in the Canadian Final at King George V Park in St. John’s.
“This recognition certainly means a lot,” said Murphy. “I have spent over a decade in the Jubilee league and it’s incredibly rewarding to know the effort and dedication I have put into soccer are seen and appreciated. At the same time, this award isn’t just about me. It reflects the support of my coaches and teammates, who have played a huge role in helping me reach this point.”
In addition to her accomplishments as a player, Murphy contributes to the development of young athletes through her coaching role with Paradise Soccer Club.
“My experience as a player has played a big role in how I coach,” she said. “I’ve learned the dedication and mindset it takes to succeed, and I try to create a positive, motivating environment where players can reach their potential.”
Driven by her passion for the game, Murphy continues to stay involved both on and off the field.
“My love for the game is what keeps me involved,” she said. “There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing players grow to love the game as much as I do.”
These awards highlight the strength of the Paradise Soccer Club community and the impact our players, coaches, and volunteers continue to have on the sport across Newfoundland and Labrador.
“We are incredibly proud to see members of our club recognized at the provincial level,” said Paradise Soccer Club Executive Director. “Their dedication, leadership, and commitment to excellence represent the very best of what our club stands for.”
Paradise Soccer Club congratulates the GU17 team, Luca, and Teri on their well-deserved recognition.
